Motion made by Joan S. seconded by Sharon S. to adopt minutes of June 26th, 2007 meeting as presented.  Carried.

Old Business:
Purple basket items to be turned in and members are reminded that they have until the November meeting to complete the task set out in the paper bag which they received at
the June meeting. If members did not attend the June meeting and wish to participate in the paper bag challenge, they may obtain one from Hellen S.. The bags had a small purple piece of paper in it which required the member to bring a small object to the September meeting which will later be made into a fun basket with various objects of interest to quilters. Also in the bag was a task ie. fabric to be made into “something” for the Quilt Show Boutique and turned in at the November Guild meeting.

Third and final reading of motion made by Jackie S., seconded by Nancy E. to change the statement “Minutes shall be read at the next meeting” to read:  “The minutes shall be circulated before the following meeting & approved at that meeting.”  Carried.
Anna May K. reminded members that if they do not have email that they should advise the executive of their addresses so that the minutes may be mailed to them.

Quilt Show 2008: Kathy D. reported that an informal meeting was held at her home on September 11th with 7 members present.
Next meeting is to be held October 9th at her home,(call fellow members for directions), at 6:30. She requests that at least one chair/co-chair of each committee attend the meeting.
“I Spy” fabric is needed to make into kits to sell at the boutique. Sandy Armstrong is the chairperson of this committee and showed us an “I Spy” top made as an example. Kits will be made up at our January 26th Sewing Saturday.
It was decided the Sunset Country Quilt Guild would be in charge of the next Quilt Show Challenge 2010 and that the theme would be “Winter Games.” Bev W. volunteered to be chairperson of this task.
A volunteer is needed to collect quilts from past Quilt Show winners-see Kathy D. if interested.
Suggestion made by Karen G. that a banquet/silent auction be held on the Saturday of the Quilt Show. A volunteer is needed to find out prices for catering and a suitable venue for the banquet.  Cori and Myra of Blue Meadow Designs would be guest speakers.
Joan S. reminded members that items for the boutique are needed.
